    What is this?  The Scappoose High School boys players and coaches will be putting on a 4-day soccer camp for the youth players in Scappoose.  This 4-day camp is a great opportunity for youth players to progress their skills, get advice from the high school players and coaches, and see what level of skills they will be able to have if they practice and stick with soccer.

     

     

    When: August 8th, 9th, 10th, & 11th

    Where: Scappoose Middle School

    Check in by the Annex Gym

     

     

    U7 - U9 (1st-3rd grade)

     

    Cost: $45 - Scappoose Soccer Club is donating 100% of proceeds to the high school soccer programs and everyone will receive a Tribe Soccer gym sack!

    Time: 9:30 am - 11:30pm

     

    What to expect:  The Kids in this age group will be working with high school coaches and kids to improve several aspects of their game, including:

    - Knowing the difference between offense and defense

    - Proper techniques for throwing in the ball

    - Dribbling skills

    - Dribbling vs chasing the ball

    - Proper passing techniques

    - Proper receiving and trapping techniques

    - Shooting vs. Kicking

    - Beginner goalkeeping skills

     

     

    U10 - U14 (4th - 8th grade)

     

    Cost: $65 - Scappoose Soccer Club is donating 100% of proceeds to the high school soccer programs and everyone will receive a Tribe Soccer gym sack!

    Time: 9 am - 12 pm

     

    What to expect:  The Kids in this age group will be working with high school players and coaches to improve several aspects of their game, including:

    - Learning the offside rule

    - Understanding the roles of defenders, midfielders, and forwards

    - How to utilize space on the field and hold their position

    - Awareness of teammates

    - Crossing

    - The importance of communication

    - Chip passing

    - Defending and attacking philosophies and tactics

    - Decision making

    - Goalkeeping

     

     What to bring: All players are required to have shin guards and proper footwear, and are expected to come properly dressed to participate in all soccer activities.  Water will be provided, but we suggest each player bring their own water bottle, a light snack, and sunscreen.
